Buckman Fire Station in Santa Fe, New Mexico

Buckman Station in Winter by Allegretti Architects in Santa Fe, New Mexico

The Buckman Fire Station is the product of a public-private partnership.  Developers of the Las Campanas residential subdivision north ofSanta Fedonated the two acre property for this municipal facility.  Impact fees collected bySanta FeCountyprovided construction funding.

The un-manned building shelters three emergency vehicles, a training room, office, and toilet rooms.  Planned expansions include additional vehicle bays and community room.  The fire station forms an anchor for the anticipated future development of the Las Campanas village center.

The exterior is thoughtfully detailed in territorial style.  This treatment respects the Spanish pueblo character of its refined custom home setting, yet its more formal expression sets it apart as a public building.  Arched doors and minimal red painted accents further identify the building’s purpose with subtle clarity.

The Buckman Fire Station was built by JM Evans Constrcution.
