Allegretti Architects Santa Fe, New Mexico
In 1997, Allegretti Architects was invited to design the renovation of a century-old historic Santa Fe building for the cafe at the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum. Located on the same property as the museum, this small cafe offers gracious informal dining for museum visitors, staff, and public just off the Santa Fe Plaza.
The restaurant occupies and spills out from the all brick territorial building which was originally built more than a century ago. The restoration of the principal façades preserves what was once the genuine architectural personality of this section of Santa Fe. The café design takes full advantage by using the façade as backdrop to a lush dining courtyard.
The architect selected interior colors which faithfully match the natural mud plasters at the artist’s former home in Abiquiu, New Mexico.
The O’Keeffe Cafe was remodeled by Wolf Corp of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
For twenty years, Allegretti’s firm of Santa Fe architects has created distinctive residential and commercial architecture in northern New Mexico.
