Allegretti Architects Santa Fe, New Mexico
Pear Tree House is a tiny 1700 square foot historic adobe home on Canyon Road in Santa Fe. The dwelling was constructed in many phase over a fifty-year period. In 2008, Allegretti Architects led the home through a major remodel and modernization.
The home abuts property lines on two sides and thus focuses inward to a walled garden. This existing courtyard was preserved and made functional by adding a patio and a portal. The floor plan was adjusted to accommodate a small one-car garage. Interiors were completely remodeled as were all electrical and mechanical systems. Materials were carefully selected to provide healthy interior environments. New finishes include flagstone floors, plaster walls, and antique doors.
The home was sold in just a few weeks after construction was completed despite an extremely challenging real estate market.
For twenty years, Allegretti Architects in Santa Fe has created distinctive homes and buildings appropriate to Northern New Mexico. Allegretti takes pleasure in sustainable design and green building.
